Georgia summer landscaping tips

Blog Contributed by David West

Are your flowers in full bloom and your landscaping bright green? Hopefully they are! With the warm weather it may seem like it would be hard to harm your perfect landscaping, however, you could harm it by accident by doing things you would never think twice about. We want your landscaping to stay healthy all summer long, so keep reading to find out some of our best tips!

Our first tip may come as a surprise during the hot summer months. This tip has to do with watering your landscaping, flowers and plants. While the hot weather may trick you into thinking that you need to water more, you actually do not. In fact, it is better to not over water your landscaping. Deep watering less frequently is the best option and will help encourage deep root growth and better drought tolerance.

Another tip is to watch out for fungus that could potentially take over your landscaping during the summer. One of the best ways to avoid fungal growth is to water early in the day. With the high humidity that summer brings, its common for a fungal growth to appear. This fungal growth may appear as a powdery mildew along with a brown patch on your grass.

It is also a great time to contact Great Estates about our 42-0-0 fertilizer. This slow-release fertilizer will help keep your landscaping as bright and healthy as possible as the summer heat continues for the next few months. If you are looking to keep your landscaping the most beautiful around, be sure to follow our tips and give us a call for professional landscaping!
