Late summer landscape maintenance

Blog Contributed by Stephen McClain

As we make our way into the late summer months, it’s important to keep in mind landscape maintenance. As school begins for the kids and the heat reaches unbearable highs, it can be easy to throw in the towel when it comes to your landscaping. However, keeping up with your landscape maintenance will give you a lawn your neighbors will envy.

So what landscape maintenance is required to keep your landscape beautiful and healthy? We suggest keeping your lawn trimmed at a healthy length and making sure that it stays weed free as we head into autumn in a few short months. By keeping your lawn trimmed, it will continue to grow lush and green even as the temperatures soar during August and early September.

The rising temperature is not the only thing to keep in mind; be sure to keep an eye on your irrigation system, as well. Your irrigation system is one of the best ways to maintain your healthy lawn throughout the rest of the summer. However, due to the heat it may be working “overtime,” meaning that it’s crucial to watch and maintain your irrigation system to make sure that it continues to work properly for the rest of the summer.

At Great Estates Landscaping, we are the experts in both residential and commercial landscaping and we can make sure that your landscaping remains healthy and green throughout the rest of the year.
